Investment Frontiers Research is headed by
Cliff Quisenberry Jr, CFA.
Formerly the Director of Research and Product Development at Parametric Portfolio Associates, Mr. Quisenberry brings to bear 20 years of experience in the investment management industry ranging from fundamental and quantitative research, product design in quant-active, tax-managed equity and overlay management to portfolio management in domestic, international and emerging markets.
He is also the former chief strategist of emerging markets at Parametric since 1995 and the former Portfolio Manager of the Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Emerging Markets Fund (EITEX), a mutual fund sub-advised by Parametric. Under Mr. Quisenberry’s management from June 1998 until March of 2007, the EITEX fund achieved top decile rankings in the universe of emerging market equity funds and attained a 5 star-rating by Morningstar.
Mr. Quisenberry's focus has been on structured or quantitative active strategies that fundamentally seek to avoid and/or exploit biases in human judgment or behavior. Much of this investment philosophy stems from early research in behavioral finance for his senior thesis in Economics at Yale in 1987, advised by Professor Robert Shiller.
Mr. Quisenberry has published several articles and is widely quoted on the emerging markets. He is particularly recognized as an early proponent of frontier emerging markets which he introduced into Parametric’s emerging market strategy in 1997. In addition, he has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on a wide range of topics.
